L'esprit catalan

Bringing together 42 works by Aristide Maillol, Manolo Hugué, Pablo Gargallo, Apel·les Fenosa and Pablo Picasso, this exhibition explores the fruitful ties that bind Catalonia, the Mediterranean and Paris in the history of modern sculpture.

Through a rare dialogue between these major figures of the first half of the twentieth century, the exhibition highlights both the diversity of their plastic languages and the deep affinities that bring them together.

Coming from successive generations, these five artists developed singular bodies of work, nourished by shared territories, common intellectual networks and one and the same Mediterranean history.
