Launch of the Raoul Dufy Online Catalogue Raisonné

by Fanny Guillon-Laffaille

The first four volumes of the Catalogue Raisonné devoted to Raoul Dufy's paintings, written by Maurice Laffaille, were published between 1972 and 1977. A supplement of his paintings, by Maurice Laffaille and Fanny Guillon-Laffaille was published in 1985. Two volumes dedicated to his watercolours, written by Fanny Guillon-Laffaille appeared in 1981 and 1982 and were followed by a catalogue raisonné of his
drawings in 1991.
Since then, a large number of watercolours (over 1600), paintings and drawings have been found.
This is hardly surprising as Raoul Dufy created thousands of artworks throughout his lifetime.
lt seemed to me necessary to continue to inventory and publish the artist's work nolonger as a paper edition, but as a digital edition. A sign of the times! Although one
will not have the pleasure of flicking through the pages of a book, this on line catalogue will enable regular updates.
Today this ensemble that is presently dispersed across several publications will gradually become the online catalogue raisonné of the complete works of Raoul
A newsletter will keep you informed of new entries.
